Networked sound masking systems by Dynasound
Networked audio and addressable speaker systems have become the preferred approach to sound masking, paging and music distribution. While offering the utmost in flexibility and control, Dynasound networked systems consist of a few easy to specify components, use standard network hardware, are CobraNet ready and allow control of every speaker individually.
The industry's first PoE (power over Ethernet) sound masking system sets the standard for control. Every speaker can be individually configured to receive one, or more, of eight network audio channels, and the output of one, or more, of four sound masking generators. Privacy Manager software enables adjustments on a system-wide, per zone, or per speaker basis.
Dynasound's networked sound masking system features three easy to specify components. The DS3008 processor connects external paging and music signals into the digital network. Each DS8000 is an eight channel receiver and amplifier containing four sound masking generators and full DSP processing ability. Speaker connections are made with standard two conductor audio cable. Other connections use standard network CAT-5 cable.
Dynasound's DS8000 speaker controller is the industry's first power over Ethernet soundmasking controller. Power over Ethernet (PoE) and CAT5 cabling provide power and networked digital audio signals to the DS8000. Each DS8000 has eight speaker outputs designed to power Dynasound's DS1356 speakers. Each DS8000 is capable of receiving 8 network audio channels. In addition, each DS8000 contains four independent soundmasking generators each having full 1/3 octave EQ. Each speaker output has independent control and access to the eight audio network channels and the four internal soundmasking generators. A DSP matrix mixer allows any combination of channels to be delivered to any speaker.
The DS3008 is an eight channel DSP soundmasking processor with full networking capability. Each DS3008 has four internal soundmasking generators each having 1/3 octave band EQ. The DS3008 has eight audio inputs for paging and music signals. All eight audio channels are broadcast via digital network audio to the DS8000 speaker controllers. In addition the DS3008 provides eight standard balanced audio outputs for use with conventional soundmasking networks.
The DS1356 speaker is designed to be installed above suspended ceilings or in open-structure facilities. Speakers are available in white or black. The speakers are connected to the outputs of the DS8000 using standard 18 AWG two conductor wire. Speakers are suspended using a single point suspension. These speakers are 8 ohm speakers and should not be used on 70 volt systems.
Dynasound's networked soundmasking systems utilize industry standard PoE network switches. Our systems do not require expensive managed switches. We recommend the Netgear FS728TP for most installations. Smaller switches may be used when only a few DS8000s are required.
Dynasound Privacy Manager
Dynasound's Privacy Manager software allows access to every individual networked speaker. Volume, channel and tone (EQ) adjustments may be made on a per speaker basis.
Privacy Manager- Monitor Screen
When connected to a Dynasound Networked sound masking system, Privacy Manager's main screen offers simple tools for making sound level adjustments on a system-wide, per zone or per speaker basis. The main screen displays all network devices and provides access to detailed settings and functions.
In this example the display indicates that a DS3008 soundmasking and paging processor is transmitting via the network to multiple DS8000 speaker controllers.
Soundmasking Manager
Every Dynasound networked sound masking device contains four independent sound masking generators. The equalizer screen on the right provides access to the four generators. In the default configuration generators A and B are ganged allowing two channel masking signals to be adjusted with one EQ.
Input Manager
When connected to a DS8000 network speaker processor the Input Manager provides per channel equalization and level control for incoming network signals, such as paging or background music.
Output Manager
The Output Manager provides a matrix mixer which allows any mix of network channels and internal generators to be routed to any speaker. The standard configuration provides two channels of broadcast soundmasking on network channels 7 and 8, alternating between speakers. The individual volume, as well as the mix of audio channels , for each individual speaker can be adjusted.
